Getting Started
One of the main questions people ask when wanting a web site is "Where do I
start?" At Frankenfeld Web Design, we will guide you through the process
of getting your web site up and running. These are the steps that we follow.
- Conduct Customer Interview
We have a list of questions that we go through with every customer
to find out what your needs are and what you are trying to accomplish
with your web site.
- Develop a Proposed Design
From the information that you give us, we will put together a proposed
design for your site and give you an estimate of what your site will
cost. From our initial design, we will work together on identifying
changes that will better meet your goals for the site.
- Register a Domain Name
There is an organization called Internic on the Internet that keeps track
of all of the domain names in use on the Internet. A "domain name" is
an address on the Internet where people will find your site. An example
is "www.yourorganization.com." In order to obtain a domain name that is not
in use, it must be registered with Internic. We will help you find a domain
name and register it with Internic.
- Development, Site Reviews, and Testing
Our graphics designers and programmers will work to develop the site
according to the specifications layed out in the proposed design. As
the site nears completion, site reviews will be conducted with you to
ensure construction is on track.
- Upload your Site to Site Hosting Service
Once your site is completed, we will upload the files associated with
the site to the Internet Service Provider of your choice.
- Search Engine Submission
The final step in the process is to submit information about your site
to the search engines on the Internet. We have purchased a software
tool that will submit your site's information to over 500 search engines.
We will continue to submit this information once a month for up to
one year.
If you have a question or comments for our organization, please
contact us.
